DO YOU LOVE JESUS?
Deut. 6:5, “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.”
Deut. 11:1, “Therefore thou shalt love the Lord thy God, and keep his charge, and his statutes, and his judgments, and his commandments, alway.”
Joshua 23:11, “Take good heed therefore unto yourselves, that ye love the Lord your God.”
Psalm 97:10, “Ye that love the Lord, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.”

"I am working as a colporteur of the American Tract Society to try to save the souls of the dear boys who fall around me daily," the man explained to Maj. Gen. Jeb Stuart. Then he asked, "General, do you love Jesus?"

Following a hurried consultation with the prisoner’s captors who had also been subjected to his probing query, General Stuart readily concurred with their suggestion: “General,” they said, “take the man’s promise that he will not tell of our whereabouts for 24 hours and let us see him out of our lines or we will have a prayer meeting from here to Richmond!”
General Stuart was only one of a multitude to meet Uncle John Vassar's inquiry: "Do you love Jesus?" For 37 years, from his conversion in 1841 until his death in 1878, John Vassar posed his question to nearly everyone who crossed his path.
