Civil War re-enactor the Rev. Alan Farley mixed 1860's history and old-time religion during a Sunday morning church service under a tent for about 300 fellow re-enactors and spectators of Wilson's Creek 2000.

"…Twenty-five years is a long time to do anything. It is a milestone in marriage, in employment to a company, and even 5 years beyond what is considered full service in the military. A person who reaches such a milestone is usually given a special gift or memento acknowledging their loyal service. If that is the case of earthly things how significant must it be for eternal matters such as 25 years of ministry! Well that is what is happening in 2009 as Alan and Faith Farley, and their family, mark 25 years of faithfulness.

21 December 2009 Micah 5:2, “But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.” When you hear or sing the Christmas carol “The 12 Days of Christmas” have you ever wondered what in the world leaping lords, French hens, swimming swans, and especially the partridge that won't come out of the pear tree have to do with Christmas?
